Becarv mainly focuses on equipment that maintain aseptic conditions during bioprocessing operations in cleanrooms and for incubation of cell and viral cultures. The company recently developed the Closed Seeding Unit (CSU), a fully automate device for the transfer of a cell inoculum into culture in a closed-system environment using a single-use kit.

Closed Seeding Unit

It has developed a specific equipment – the Closed Seeding Unit – as well as other process-specific solutions to ensure its clients achieve the highest quality standards and operational excellence in their productions.

The Closed Seeding Unit is a groundbreaking device targeting the last remaining open step of Upstream Process (USP) operations, namely cell line inoculation. It provides an automated and cost-effective solution to ensure enhanced sterility, operational efficiency, and reproducibility when transferring cells from a vial to final container for cell culture.

Becarv current developments support aspirations of manufacturers and regulators for enhanced biological product quality and safety through improved control of the process contamination risks.

Equipment Solutions for Biomanufacturing

For more than ten years, Becarv has provided robust, reliable, and customized cleanroom equipment for enhanced quality and safety of biopharmaceutical products. All equipment and materials provided by Becarv comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Laminar Air Flow

A Laminar Airflow (LAF) hood, also known as a laminar air flow cabinet, is designed to provide a sterile environment by directing High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA)-filtered air over the workspace. The filtered airflow is unidirectional and laminar flowing in parallel layers with minimal turbulence, ensuring a clean and contaminant-free environment for sterile operations.

Biosafety Cabinet

A Biosafety Cabinet (BSC) is designed to provide protection from bio-hazardous materials to both product and personnel. BSCs are equipped with HEPA filters to trap infectious agents ensuring aseptic conditions in the bench area. Becarv delivers Biosafety Cabinets categorized for Class I and Class II operations.

Incubator

An incubator is an environment-controlled equipment used to grow and maintain cell and virus cultures, and other microorganisms. It provides stable and homogeneous temperature and humidity levels necessary for the development of biological productions. Becarv specialized itself in the design and construction of large-scale incubators for industrial production of biologics.

Thermostatic Chamber

A Thermostatic Chamber, also known as a temperature-controlled chamber, provides a stable temperature and humidity controlled-environment for various industrial and laboratory applications such as product storage, purification of active ingredients, formulation, or mixing operations.

Restricted Access Barrier System

A Restricted Access Barrier System (RABS) is a type of containment system used in sterile manufacturing environments to provide a physical barrier between the sterile product and operators. RABS are equipped with HEPA filters ensuring high levels of containment for biopharmaceutical operations such as aseptic processing, filling of sterile products, and other operations requiring sterile environment in cleanrooms.

Who is Becarv?

Becarv was founded as a family business in October 2011 by Michaël and Eric Jeanty to provide equipment and fit-for-purpose technical solutions for the biopharmaceutical, chemical, and healthcare industries. For more than ten years, Becarv has analyzed customer requirements to design and deliver equipment that contribute to enhanced quality and safety of their productions.

Becarv’s team brings together expertise in technical drawing, automation, engineering, and production, with the goal of delivering integrated solutions for the industry. Since 2021, Becarv’s strategy is supported by an Advisory Board made up of renowned experts from the biopharmaceutical industry.
